About

Hi, I’m Chris—a Senior Software Engineer and technical leader with a passion for building high-quality software and solving complex problems.
I currently work at Yahara Software in Madison, WI, where I design, develop, and lead delivery of enterprise web applications across public health, education, and other domains. Over the past several years, I’ve grown into a technical leadership role, guiding a team of developers while remaining deeply hands-on in architecture, full-stack development, and system design.
My experience spans the full software development lifecycle, from early concept and system design through deployment and long-term support. I specialize in modern web application development using technologies like .NET, React, and PostgreSQL, with a strong focus on cloud-native architectures (Azure and AWS), microservices, and DevOps practices including Docker and CI/CD pipelines. I also bring experience working with a wide range of technologies including Python, SQL-based systems, and legacy platforms, allowing me to effectively modernize and evolve long-standing applications.
Prior to Yahara, I worked as an RPA Developer at WPS Health Solutions, building automation solutions that significantly reduced manual processing time, and spent several years at Mercury Marine developing and supporting PLM and engineering systems across a variety of industries.
Outside of work, I enjoy continuing to explore technology through home lab projects, automation, and self-hosted systems. That said, I make it a point to step away from the screen and spend time outdoors. Whether it’s hiking with my wife and dog, backpacking, rock and ice climbing, or mountaineering, I enjoy pushing myself and exploring new environments. I also enjoy geocaching and discovering new places along the way.
